Happy Halloween

I LOVE HALLOWEEN! It is such a fun holiday! This year was extra special! Our best friends moved into the neighborhood and we went trick or treating with them. The kids were really excited to go out with their friends and couldn't wait to get all dressed up. This year Paige went as a witch and Cole went as a Skeleton pirate. It was pretty fun to vear away from the traditional disney princess and comic book superheros this year. I bought a face paint kit and took a stab (haha) at decorating the kids faces to match their costumes. I am no make up artist, but I think they looked pretty good!

We ate a quick dinner and then our friends came over about 6pm. This year we were blessed with GREAT weather! It was the first Halloween that I can remember where it wasn't freezing cold or snowing. The evening was about 55 degrees and the kids didn't even need a jacket!

I love our neighborhood at the holidays! People around here really take pride in making their homes very festive. Trick or treating is not only a fun, candy-collecting spree for the kids, but a sort of "sightseeing" trip for us!

So it was me, my mom, my BFF Jen, and another friend Kristie along with all our children. The daddies stayed behind to tend to the trick or treaters. We canvased the neighborhood and hit just about 100 homes.

After the trick or treating we had planned to go to the church for the Harvest Party... but poor Cole's little legs were so tired he could barely walk! We opted to stay in and watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!"
