Light up the City
The Denver Zoo puts on a display adoringly known as WILD LIGHTS. Being zoo members we are often at the zoo around the time they start to erect the displays and the kids always eagerly await the night we s
tay past closing to wander around and see the lights in all their glory. This year the holiday season seemed to rush by so quickly we almost missed it. So we made plans with our good friends the Coyhis' to meet up for an afternoon at the Zoo, dinner, and then the festive trip around to see the lights. It was a really fun afternoon and evening. The kids, of course, had a blast, and us parents just doddled around behind them chatting and catching up. We had our own personal zoo guide, it seemed, when we began asking questions to one of the zoo volunteers about the giraffe babies. He had many stories to share with us about some of the things that go on at the zoo with the animals, and then he then led us over to see the baby pandas. The kids got a kick o
ut of that. It was a chilly night, but we were warmed by the company of great friends and lots of laughter. Paige and Cameron took a liking to each other and hung out very close by each others side all night. Cole and Zachary rode in the wagon with Ethan and Brianna pulling them along. This was the 2nd time we have done the zoo lights with the Coyhis'. It was a great evening!
