'Tis the Season to be Jolly . . .
Christmastime is magical not only for the time spent with family, but also time spent with friends! I have been very blessed with the friends that I have, including work friends, neighbors, the kids school friends and their parents, church friends, and of course my fabulous mom's group! I have been a member to Southlands Moms and Bubs since it began 3 years ago. Not only am I a charter member, but I have served as an assistant organizer for the group for the past year and a half (or so). Our group started out as a playgroup but has matured to what we consider 
our mommies group because we "mommies" have become such a close-knit group of friends.As a group we have experienced so much. Many of us have added to our families, thus adding more "bubs" to our group, so we have been through pregnancies together. 
Several of us started with toddlers who are now school-aged, so we have gone through empty-nest syndrome together. We even have a friend whose little baby girl is going through cancer treatment. We have learned to lean on each other in times of need and lift each other up when we are down. There have been many laughs, joys, stories told, sleepovers had (yes, mommy sleepovers) events attended and food shared throughout our time together. And Christmas is no exception in our group! We have our annual Christmas party as a group, we have an annual Christmas cookie exchange, Ugly Christ
mas Sweater parties, someone is always hosting Christmas Eve at their house (open to everyone in the group) and my contribution to the group for the holidays is my Reindeer Dust making playdate. We all gather round in the kitchen and enjoy yummy snacks, brunchy items, holiday treats, etc and then the dining room is transformed into the glitter zone! The Magic Reindeer Dust is a secret recipe that we toss together and bag up to sprinkle outside our homes on Christmas Eve. Legend says that by sprinkling the mag
ic dust, the reindeer will be sure to find your home! The kids always love making the dust and from personal experience, spreading it around on Christmas Eve. And although I enjoy making the dust and all, my favorite part is spending one last morning with my friends before Christmas!
