We had an early snow storm this year, and as a result, all the leaves froze and fell off early. We were bummed because it is an annual tradition for us to drive up through the mountains and photograph the changing colors. It is the whole reason our state is called "Colorful Colorado!" However, when we set out for our annual drive we did not know this. We decided to drive up through Boulder and Estes Park and go over Trail Ridge Road. The further up we went the more and more we began to realize there were no pretty fall colors to see... but it wasn't a disappointing trip because we saw some very beautiful scenery. And for the record, I kept my eyes open the WHOLE way!! Trail Ridge wasn't nearly as scary as I heard it was. :)
