From 20/80 to 20/40!!!!

Paige had her 3 month check up today with her EYE DOCTOR! Back in January, Paige was diagnosed with Amblyopia. The diagnosis means that one her eyes (in her case, her left eye) doesn't work. She can not see well from it and as a result, over the past 6 years, her right eye has learned to compensate for it. She was nearly blind in that eye when we found it. LUCKILY, with aggressive treatment (eye glasses and patching) her eye should make a full or near full recovery. Children's eyes do not fully develop until they are about 8 years old - so we are hoping we caught it in time. SOOOOO, Paige has been stylin' in her spectacles now for 3 months and today at her eye appointment we learned that she has improved DRASTICALLY! Her vision improved 4 lines on the eye chart and has only 3 lines to improve and she can ditch her glasses!! She went from 20/80 in her left eye, to 20/40!

THIS IS GREAT IMPROVEMENT for only 3 months! It means she is doing a great job at following doctor's orders!

Paige doesn't seem to mind her patching time (3 hrs a day) and she actually likes her glasses!
