What happens in Vegas....

Vegas anyone? WOW! We had such a blast! Robert, Jeff, Joss and I decided that we needed some adult time... a Vegas Vacation... so we went --- TWICE! Our first trip was in March 2010. We left in the wee hours of the morning, took the shuttle and checked into our hotel by 9am. We stayed at the Mandalay Bay. This was our 2nd trip to Vegas, and Jeff and Jocelyn's first. We thought the Mandalay Bay was going to be THE most amazing experience, but after the trip ended, we decided that it was way overrated!
Since Jeff and Joss had never been, we tried to cram as much as you possibly could into 3 days. The #1 thing they wanted to do once we got there was eat at the In N Out... so we thought it fitting that THAT be the way to start our vacation! We bussed over the bridge off the strip to the hamburger joint and enjoyed burgers and fries and of course spent some time in the souvenier shop getting IN N OUT VEGAS T-shirts! After our bellies were full we returned to the strip and headed down to the Venetian via THE DEUCE. We wanted to take a romantic ride on the Gondolas in Venice, but had to make the reservations in person. While we were there we made dinner reservations for an amazing authentic Italian restaurant called Zeppherino's. We walked around the Venetian and did some gambling. While we were shopping we found a store called PAIGE and also the Sharper Image store. We treated ourselves to foot, back, leg and face massages with all of the cool gadgets. While we were at the Venetian we also toured Madame Toussaide's Wax Museum. While it is a short tour, it is worth it! We had a blast stopping and posing with all of the statues and were amazed at how realistic they were. On our way back to the hotel we tried to take in the pyrotechnic show at Treasure Island, but they ended up cancelling it, so back to the hotel we went for some more gambling.
Day 2 we hit up the M&M and Coke stores. We did some souveneir shopping and toured and gambled in some of the other magnificent hotels on the strip; Namely New York New York, The Bellagio, and the MGM Grande. We toured the botanic gardens within the Bellagio, and for the second time in my life WON some money on the slots there. That evening we ate dinner at the top of the Stratosphere and then hurried back to the other end of the strip to watch KA at MGM. This was our second time seeing this show, and we would see it again and again... KA is so impressive! Jeff did some research and got us really good seats, really cheap.
On our 3rd day there we all kind of went our own ways in the morning. Jeff and Robert played in a poker tournament, Joss toured the Shark exhibit at Mandalay Bay, and I slept in, took a hot shower and packed up everything. We spent the morning gambling, eating, and hitting up some of the other casinos on the strip before heading out to MCCarren Airport to go home.
Just when we thought our Vegas vacay was over, our plane "broke" and our flight was delayed 2 hours. Not to fear, Robert and his trusted souveneir purchases saved the day! We emptied our pockets of change and laid around in the terminal playing Hold 'Em with the many decks of cards Robert bought along the way. In a way it was the most enjoyable part of our trip.
We had so much fun in Vegas we decided to go back for a 2nd trip a month later! Jeff (whom I have decided is the KING of finding good deals) found us a package deal that was cheaper than the 1st and so we booked it and were off again! This trip was much more relaxed. We enjoyed a limo ride from the airport to the strip and this time we stayed at the Excalibur, (working our way down the strip we say...). We took in dinner at the Eiffel Tower restaurant, saw Phantom of the Opera (5th row, $35 tickets courtesy of Mr. Buehler) and solved a murder in the CSI: The Experience exhibit. The only thing we didn't do that the boys SWORE they were going to do was jump off of the Stratosphere. On our first trip in March the ride was almost complete and they boys said they would come back and do it... either they chickened out - or we just plain forgot. Either way... I was relieved to NOT have to watch the boys go SPLAT!
We really enjoyed Vegas, and it was way more fun with our friends... so much that we are planning to go back again in November! HA HA J/K Robert! He would kill us!
